LED Questions and Obtainable Solutions

Energy affects life in every way. Everyplace from the workplace and home, to municipalities need energy. Energy challenges lie ahead for all. Whether a commercial enterprise, government agency or municipality, energy affects three essential fiscal issues: profit-killing wasteful use of energy, budget constraints, and immediate positive cash flow after energy reduction implementation.

Q - There are T10 and T12 fluorescent lighting tubes in my building, are they still being manufactured and legal for use?
S - Fluorescent fixtures are the dinosaurs of energy draining lighting. According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s official fluorescent lighting mandate, effective July 2012, most T12 lamps will be phased out of production for commercial and industrial applications. FutureSave can economically retrofit LED technology in almost all T8, T10 and T12 fluorescent fixtures and ballast types.

Q - My office building only has fluorescent tubes. Can I use LED in a fluorescent fixture?
S -
FutureSave has UL-rated LED tubes that we can retrofit to most 2' to 8'commercial fluorescent fixtures.

Q - The utility company owns the light poles on my property, and I am still under contract for two years. I want to use LED’s, but the utility company said that I can only use their 200 watt or 250 watt HID. I pay the bill so I should be able to use whatever product reduces my
energy.

S - The utility company issue is a problem many of our gas station and restaurant customers have. We are trying to work with the utility companies by creating a source for maintenance, but as of yet, we have no solution.

Q - I am the purchasing agent for a municipality. It has been just over a year since I purchased brand name LED lights from a reputable company, but most of the lights no longer work. We still want to use LED technology in our community, what advice can you give?
S - Read, read, and re-read testing results and warranty. The warranty will state proper use and application for the lighting. Note various factors that may invalidate the warranty such as temperature and hours of usage which has a major affect on the products longevity. Just because a company is internationally known and the product has a name brand and a higher price, that does not mean its overall quality is good, or that it will perform as labeled. There may be discounts and certain state and/or federal government funds or rebates available if you purchase from a well-known vendor. However,
although the original purchase cost may be lower, buying the product twice because of failure is no savings at all.
FutureSave uses computerized aerospace technology in our lighting products. Think about it, the lighting on a jet or the runway does not fail.

Q - We want LED lights, but I want to try out your product before I commit to purchase. Do you have samples?
S - FutureSave does not give away free samples. Your ESR (energy services representative) will schedule an appointment to bring a display to your location for viewing. Typically, from the initial display a purchase decision can be determined. However, if the decision to purchase is based on the
approval of several persons, depending on the type of interior lighting, we can make a courtesy visit and hang several indoor fixtures for a 48-hours preview.
